Evernote's Export feature choked on me many times when I tried to export 2,000+ entries in it. There is no guarantee they will always work. And don't even get me started on how they have Import/Export feature under the File menu. It's not pleasant to use at all.īesides that, this type of apps often keeps your data in a roach motel, and Evernote is not an exception here.

The Mac app has all kinds of weird bugs that irritate the heck out of me, and the WebClipper is often dog-slow.
We took careful aim and blasted a few calendar bugs into the cosmic void. We tinkered with the note editor to iron out a few annoying bugs that were buzzing around. Thankfully, that's a thing of the past now. Occasionally, Chinese or Japanese words would disappear from a note. That was a bit embarrassing, but you should be off to the races now. On Mac, the 'Learn Spelling' option wouldn't show up if the app couldn't also find an alternate spelling to suggest. Because nothing should get in the way of a good idea. We made some adjustments so typing inside a note is now even snappier. This was less than ideal, but on the bright side, we fixed it. Now and then, the app would forget what size you wanted a note window to be after you restarted it. 
Because it's important to play well with others.
We made some changes to the way the app handles dragging-and-dropping and copying-and-pasting files between apps. If you're in the Tasks view, you can now sort your tasks by their due date, so it's easier to see what you need to work on first. There's a whole lot more, but you get the idea. For example: URLs in task titles, and links in tasks within a note. We've improved how the app handles hyperlinks in tasks, so you can tap on more links in more places, and do more with them. (If you don't see Evernote in the menu, click More to open System Preferences, make sure it's checked, and drag it to the top of the list.) Quickly add files to Evernote on your Mac! Right-click and select Evernote from the Share menu to create a new note with your file in it. To help you find what you're looking for even quicker, you'll now see a list of suggested filters at the top of the note list after you perform a search or add a filter. It feels like an iPad app, not some crap ported from Android. This new layout is way easier (and faster) to navigate, and is a lot prettier, too. 
These can be grouped by almost any criterion, including notebook, date and even the city they were created in.
The new view is called "All Notes," and shows you just that: resizable (pinch 'em) thumbnails of all your notes. Much more interesting is the improved interface.
But as rich-text support will be coming to iOS 5 anyway, this seems less exciting. The supposed headline feature in v4.1 of the capture-everything app is rich-text editing, which lets you both create styled text notes (previously you were limited to plain text) and also means you don't destroy the formatting when you edit already styled notes created elsewhere. The Mac version brings Lion-friendly features like full-screen mode and hard-to-distinguish monochrome icons along with a neat new All Notes view, but it's users of the iPad app that will be happiest: Evernote for the iPad finally doesn't suck.
